It is not always possible for a person to burp the truth but if the person you are lying to can take it then, I would say that, it is always better to tell the truth. Have you ever thought about a moment when the person comes to know about the truth and then they say " I wouldn't have minded if you told me the truth then... It's too late to be true...". It would actually be too late.
I had an experience when this lady who used to work for my mom fed my fish even when I told her that feeding them twice could kill them. It did kill them and that lady did not accept it that she did it. I wouldn't have minded if she accepted it but she did not and that hurt me like hell. What would have I done if she did feed them? I wouldn't kill her. I am not as harsh as I show myself to be. Even though I knew the truth, I never got angry at her. I never cursed her. I never kept the grudge in my heart. I was just hurt.
Life if this way. It is just always wrong but there will be a right underneath every wrong a person does. I am glad I could put my thoughts into words.
P.S : to everyone who has ever lied to me: "I am not angry, I am just hurt!"

It is human nature not to admit mistakes even if it is not going to cause any discomfiture.People lie to get out of a bad situation only to be caught eventually.It is wrong to lie unless it will cause harm to some.Nicely written,Rugma
Yes indeed..if can take the truth then it is best to tell the truth.
It is probably the hurt one would feel or the health that might be affected that hinders the truth from being revealed.
